Pererenan Cliff: A Thrilling Stop on Nusa Penida’s Western Coast
Pererenan Cliff, located on the western coast of Nusa Penida, is an exciting destination to explore. Here, a nerve-wracking hiking trail along the cliff’s edge provides access to the coastline below, where you can find a charming, small waterfall known as Seganing Falls.
From the parking area, a rightward path leads you to Pererenan Cliff Point, offering spectacular views of the cliffs and the ocean below, where tiny manta rays can be spotted swimming. A rustic wooden platform at this spot allows for an even better vantage point.
In the distance, you may spot a Hindu temple perched on the point, though it’s uncertain if tourists are allowed access to it. Alternatively, if you head left from the parking area, you’ll discover an additional viewpoint of the striking Banah Rock and a steep trail leading to Seganing Falls. This hike typically takes around 30 to 45 minutes and is not suitable for sandals.
While Seganing Falls at the base might not be a grand spectacle and resembles more of a gentle stream than a traditional waterfall, it still presents an interesting place to explore. At its base, there’s a delightful natural pool for a refreshing swim.
