Eruptions occurred in 2010, 2015, and 2019. Fortunately, these eruptions rarely caused injuries, and you can still enjoy excellent views from a distance. However, during a 2004 eruption, two tourists lost their lives due to flying rocks in the vicinity of the Mount Bromo crater hike.
Presently, the region is under close surveillance, with subterranean earthquake detectors in place to predict any volcanic activity originating from Bromo.
